Soft wood, hard wood or composite?

With several options on the market, Life Landscaping have the skill and capability to built a decking that fits your requirements. Our key suppliers have access to a variety of products on the market and are confident that we can source the right one for you.
Softwood timber decking is a pressure treated wooden slat with a grooved finish. Although it is the cheapest material to buy it does require the most amount of upkeep and should be treated on an annual basis.
Hardwood decking uses hard wood timber (such as balau, cedar or redwood) and is an ideal choice if you require a low maintenance option. Although more expensive than softwood, hardwood is more durable and less likely to scratch or mark. Also, the most common hardwood timbers used (i.e cedar and redwood) have a natural resistance to rot and insects.
Composite decking is quickly becoming the most popular form of decking used due to the lack of maintenance required. It is a man-made product that uses a mix of wood fibres and plastics to create a durable, fade and mildew resistant material. Life Landscaping have used this product a lot over the past 2 years and it is quickly becoming a firm favourite with a range of colours.
